When is garbage collection?

Garbage collection is done in Central Lillooet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Residential pick up is limited to once a week, but commercial operations can have pick up as many as three times per week. Garbage should be left out the morning of pick up. To get the day of pick up in your area, contact us at (250) 256-4289.

There is a private disposal service available to residents of North and East Lillooet. You can contact Lillooet Disposal at (250) 256-4061 for more information.


Does Lillooet have sprinkling regulations?

Yes, sprinkling is limited to 7:00 to 10:00 pm daily, from May 1 to October 31 annually. If further restrictions are imposed, notice will be posted in the Lillooet News and at the Post Office.


Does Lillooet have open burning restrictions?

Yes, there is an open burning ban from April 30 to October 15 annually. Backyard fire pits are allowed when clean wood is used and there is a grate in place to keep sparks down. When the Forest Fire rating is high, a full burning ban may be imposed. For more information on burning, you can view the Burning Bylaw under Documents and Forms at this website.


What are the hours for the SLRD Lillooet Landfill?

Summer Hours: May 1 to October 1,
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Winter Hours: October 2 to April 30,
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 to 4:00 pm.

When is the Museum & Visitor Information Centre Open?

Can I use my VISA to pay my property taxes?

No, property taxes may not be paid with a credit card.

Property taxes can be paid by (1) mailing us a postdated cheque dated July 3, 2007 (Your cheque must be received by 4:30 pm on July 3, 2007 to avoid the 10% penalty); (2) in person at Municipal Hall, 615 Main Street, with cash, cheque or debit card; (3) by phone or PC banking; and (4) you may claim your Home Owner Grant on-line in the virtual city hall at www.lillooetbc.com.
